“I moved to the Canadian International School in Grade 8 in the second semester. Before coming to CIS, I cried all day and bothered my mom insisting that I was not going to move! I was so anxious about being exposed to a new environment where I would need to learn all subjects in English and meet new people.

It was really challenging to all subjects in English!

I had to translate every single word from Korean and had to ask Ms. Anna, my Grade 8 teacher to explain the sentences that I could not understand from the textbook. Also, whenever teachers said something that I could not understand, I just smiled pretending I understood. Of course, I did not forget to add “ahh.. Yes, uh-huh.”
Without the help of y CIS friends, teachers’ support, and opportunities given by CISS community to participate in various school activities/events, I would not have had been able to develop myself. So, I would like to thank our CISS community for letting me graduate with a variety of meaningful high school experiences and happy memories. I am so glad and proud to be a CISS alumni :D “
