WATERLOO MATH CONTEST OPENED FOR EXTERNAL STUDENTS

This May 12, CIS will proudly host the Waterloo Mathematics Contest for Gauss grades. The Waterloo Mathematics Contest is administered by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC). CEMC is Canada’s most recognized organization for promoting and creating activities and materials in mathematics and computer science. It is housed within the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. The Gauss contests are an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability.

CIS will welcome students from external international and public schools to participate with students from our school system. The Gauss 7 contest is advisable for grade 5,6 and 7 students while the Gauss 8 contest is advisable for Grade 6,7 and 8 students.

 

The contest will be hosted from 9am-10am at CIS Campus in May 12. The paper will consist of 25 multiple choice questions and must be completed in 60 minutes. Contestants only need to bring ID cards, HB pencil, eraser and scientific calculator.

 The registration fee is 150,000 VND per external contestant. It can be paid in-person or by bank transfer. Registration and payment deadline is April 14, 2016. For further information, kindly contact our academic services office at 08 54 123 456.
